ERODE: The District Rehabilitation Office, Erode, has invited applications from differently-abled students for scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year.
A press release issued here says students between classes one and five will get Rs. 500, those between classes six and eight Rs. 1,500, students between classes class nine and higher secondary Rs. 2,000, those in graduate programme will get Rs. 3,000 and students in masters programme will get Rs. 3,500.
To be eligible for the scholarship, children in classes between one and eight should have passed the previous class and possess disability identity card.
Their parents’ annual income should not be over Rs. 12,000. For students between classes nine and masters programme, the release asks them to possess disability identity card and have a family income less than Rs. 24,000 a year.
Those students too should have cleared the previous examinations.
The release asks those interested to apply to the District Rehabilitation Centre at the Erode Collectorate on or before September 30.
