Annual sports meet

Yellow house won the overall championship in the annual sports meet of Jegan Matha Matriculation School. Col.M..V.Abrahaam, station commander, army cantonment, Tiruchi, presided over the function. Rev.A..Suresh, principal and correspondent, St.James Matriculation Higher Secondary School, gave away prizes to students. Rev.Fr.R.Sahayaraj, correspondent; Rev.Fr.M.Chinnappan, principal; A.Sundararajan, vice-principal; and Jayachandran, physical director, were present. Mass drill by the students enthralled the audience.

Educational Development Day

The birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, was celebrated Educational Development Day at St. Anthony's Matriculation School. Gerlyn Isaaks, correspondent, presided. Elocution and essay writing competitions were conducted for the students. Prof.A..Subramaniyan from J.J. College, who was the chief guest, gave away prizes to students.

Investiture ceremony

The Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Tiruchi recently conducted investiture function for pupil leaders.

S.Kevin Abraham, the school pupil leader and his 10-member team of house captains and vice-captains pledged to serve the school and student community. Elliot Raj, retired higher secondary school mathematics teacher with 35 years of experience, who was the chief guest, spoke about the importance of good leadership. Mrs.Shantha Devadason, principal, Lt.Col (Retd) Paul Devaason, Director, spoke.

Club office-bearers take charge

The office-bearers of the Interact Club of Campion Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School were installed at a function organised in the school recently.

A. Shantanu as president, Joseph Jayasurya as vice-president, M. Abishek as secretary and U. Ganesh as treasurer, were installed by Gopal, Rotary district governor, in the presence of Rev.Bro.Arul, principal of the school.

March past enthrals audience

The 40th annual sports meet of BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kailasapuram, was held with usual pomp and splendour at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

V.Jeyakumar, Inspector of Matriculation Schools, was the chief guest. Overall championship was won by the Ruby House.

The chief guest handed over the prizes to the winners. The chief guest appreciated the school for giving importance to physical education. In march past RUBY house won the shield. P.Nainar, presided over the function and M.Palanivel was guest of honour.

Students pay obeisance to parents

‘Guru Poornima' was celebrated at Amrita Vidyalayam. Students performed ‘pada puja' to their parents and sought their blessings.
