TIRUNELVELI: Vice-Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) R.T. Sabapathy Mohan has taken the initiative for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oracle University for Workforce Development Program (WDP).
The MoU, signed recently by Registrar (in-charge) K.A. Manikumar with the Oracle University in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, will allow MSU to deliver instructor-led Oracle training leading to certifications (Oracle Certified Professional-OCP), which will be jointly given by both the universities.
This MoU will meet the objective of enabling the MSU students to have an access to Oracle authorised training at a very low cost.
The Workforce Development Program exposes the university students to Oracle University courseware and CDs during the training program.
This also helps the students to receive the certificates which are clear differentiators from their peers when they compete for jobs. The Workforce Development Program extends the opportunity to MS University to be a part of the Global Education Partner Network of Oracle University.
The alliance also offers MSU students a host of benefits in employment opportunities in the IT industries. The offerings mentioned above will address the emerging needs of the students on value added International certificate programs and create a new line of useful training for the students.
Oracle University has trained MSU lecturers to offer this programme and the courseware in book format will be given to each student participant.
The Centre for Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) of MSU, headed by Dr. N. Krishnan, will be the nodal agency for execution.
“To start with, this program will be offered to all students studying at the university main campus irrespective of their course of study. Subsequently, it will be extended to students of affiliated colleges,” said Dr. Sabapathy Mohan.
