The service will benefit Tirupur traders; frequency of certain trains increased

The rail services from Coimbatore to Tuticorin will commence from July 1.

According to railway sources the train will depart from Coimbatore at 8. 30 p.m. and reach Tuticorin at 6.10 a.m. on the next day.

People of Tuticorin have expressed happiness over the resumption of the service. The much awaited journey to Coimbatore will commence from Tuticorin from July 2 (Saturday).

The six bogie link express train will depart from Tuticorin railway station at 9.30 p.m. and arrive at Coimbatore at 7.30 a.m. on the next day. The passengers need not alight at Vanchi Maniyachi railway station.

The six-bogie link express train from Tuticorin will get attached to with the Nagercoil – Coimbatore express train at Vanchi Maniyachi station. It will stop at stations including Tuticorin Melur, Milavittan, Vanchi Maniyachi, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, Pugalur, Erode and Tirupur.

The travel fare to reach Coimbatore is Rs. 103 for general second class category. For passengers, who wish to board sleeper class, it is Rs. 203. As for boarding the three-tier air-conditioned coach, the fare is fixed to be Rs. 539.

Since trade operations are hectic in Tirupur, the traders will also be delighted to board this link express train, which also halts at Tirupur. Passenger fare for boarding the air-conditioned coach to reach Tirupur is Rs. 496 and for the sleeper class coach is Rs. 187. As far as the general second class coach is concerned, passengers could board at a fare of Rs. 94 per head.

New trains

Meanwhile, the following trains announced in the Railway Budget 2011-12 will start operations in July.

T.No.22601 Chennai Central – Sai Nagar Shirdi Superfast Express will leave Chennai Central at 10.10 a.m. on Wednesdays and arrive Sai Nagar Shirdi at 11.30 a.m. on Thursdays.

T.No.22602 Sai Nagar Shirdi – Chennai Central Express will leave Sai Nagar Shirdi at 8.25 a.m. on Fridays and arrive Chennai Central at 9.40 a.m. on Saturdays.

These trains will be introduced w.e.f. July 6 from Chennai Central and from Sai Nagar Shirdi from July 8.

T.No.22682 Chennai Central – Mysore Superfast Express will leave Chennai Central at 11.30 p.m. on Thursdays and arrive Mysore at 8.35 a.m. on Fridays.

T.No.22681 Mysore – Chennai Central Express will leave Mysore at 8.10 p.m. on Wednesdays and arrive Chennai Central at 5.15 a.m. on Thursdays.

These trains will be introduced from July 7 from Chennai Central and from Mysore from July 6.

Coimbatore – Mettupalayam Passenger

T.No.56146 Coimbatore – Mettupalayam Passenger (except Sundays) will leave Coimbatore at 9.30 a.m. and arrive Mettupalayam at 10.20 a.m.

T.No.56147 Mettupalayam – Coimbatore Passenger will leave Mettupalayam at 10.40 a.m. and arrive Coimbatore at 11.30 a.m.

T.No.56148 Coimbatore – Mettupalayam Passenger will leave Coimbatore at noon and arrive Mettupalayam at 12.50 p.m. T.No.56149 Mettupalayam – Coimbatore Passenger will leave Mettupalayam at 1.10 p.m. and arrive Coimbatore at 2 p.m.

T.No.56150 Coimbatore – Mettupalayam Passenger will leave Coimbatore at 3 p.m. and arrive Mettupalayam at 3.50 p.m. T.No.56151 Mettupalayam – Coimbatore Passenger will leave Mettupalayam at 4.20 p.m. and arrive Coimbatore at 5.10 p.m. The above trains, now running as specials, will be introduced from July 1.

Among trains whose frequency has been increased is T.No.76835/76836 Tiruchchirappalli – Karur – Tiruchchirappalli Passengers (from six days a week to daily from July 3), T.No.56607/56608 shoranur – Ernakulam – Shoranur Passengers (from six days a week to daily from July 3).

T.No.56318/56317 Nagercoil – Thiruvananthapuram – Nagercoil Passengers will be extended to Kochuveli.
