Kosmic Music forays into film production with ‘Kanna’

Kosmic Music has entered the realm of film production with ‘Kanna’, featuring Prakash Raj, Seetha, Sheela and new find Raja. Kosmic Music, a music production and distribution company, has a library of over 500 albums.

Director of the film ‘Kanna’ Anand said, “This is a film which every member of the family will enjoy. We have the best visuals, and the songs are enchanting.”

A major portion of the film has been shot in Ooty and nearby places. Actors Prakash Raj and Seetha are said to have played their roles of father and mother of actor Sheela very realistically. The film is based on Sheela’s infatuation for a guy. The music for the film is scored by Ranjith Barot, who worked in ‘VIP’ and the film is to be released worldwide this month.

According to Vijay Viswanath, vice-president, Kosmic Music, the company would be making at least two films a year. “We are now part of the music industry. ‘Kanna’ is our maiden venture and we have decided to enter filmdom in a big way. We intend marketing films outside of India, with full rights to both cinema releases and DVD distribution. Kosmic Music also aims to bring quality south Indian and Hollywood films into worldwide markets, with offices in the United States, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Hungary.
