ARIYALUR: Adequate drugs have been stocked at all primary health centres in the district, the Collector V.M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam said here.

Addressing medical officers and para-medical personnel of the Primary Health Centre at Andimadam, near here, on Saturday, the Collector said that the district administration had taken steps for ensuring proper availability of drugs at the primary health centres.

He appealed to the medical officers to be courteous and patient-friendly while providing treatment for the patients.

Mr. Nayagam, who earlier inspected the hospital, also verified the registers including the attendance registers, the medicine stock register.

He ordered action against a Pharmacist who had proceeded on leave without handing over one of the registers.

Earlier, addressing the panchayat presidents of the Andimadam block, the Collector called upon the civic chiefs to execute the solid waste management programme for achieving overall economic development through an eco-friendly strategy.
