TIRUNELVELI: Demanding monthly assistance, a group of physically challenged persons submitted petitions to District Collector M. Jayaraman during the grievance day meeting held at the Collectorate on Monday.

The petitioners S. Moses of Sivanthipuram, L. Mariappan of Santhaimadam near Ambasamudram and S. Mariappan of Sivanthipuram, all visually challenged and S. Jayalalitha of Thiruvannanathapuram Pottal, a physically challenged, said they were living under below poverty line and not having any property.

Seeking free house sites a group of villagers from Moolaikkaraipatti submitted petition to the Collector while members of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam urged that an IMFL outlet on the North Car Street in Tirunelveli Town should be removed as the boozers were troubling the public coming to the business establishments.
