MAYILADUTHURAI: The Bharat Scouts and Guides of Mayiladuthurai Educational District organised a three-day Rajyapuraskar Award evaluation camp at Thiyagi G. Narayanasamy Municipal Higher Secondary School, Mayiladuthurai.

Former Assistant Governor, Rotary R. Ashok inaugurated the camp in the presence of Dr. ARC Shanmugam, Assistant State Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Tamil Nadu.

Mr.Ashok said that the Scouts movement plays a vital role in moulding the individuality of youngsters, who partake in the nation-building and strive for a better tomorrow. Sixty-three scout boys and ninety girl guides from 23 Schools of Mayiladuthurai Educational District participated in the evaluation camp.

On behalf of the State Association, State Training Commissioner Fenella David, evaluated the performance and eligibility of the scout boys and guide girls for receiving the Tamil Nadu Governor’s award. She was assisted by the Assistant Leader Trainer Amanullah.

V. Vedhavalli, District Joint Secretary, G. Chinnappan, Assistant Headmaster of the School, and District Secretary S. Thiyagarajan spoke. The camp commenced on July 31 and concluded on August 2.
