CHENNAI: Local Administration Minister M. K. Stalin on Wednesday presented cheques for Rs. 50,000 each to two students of Chennai Corporation schools for heart surgeries.

At a screening camp, 464 students of schools were covered, of whom 13 were found to be having heart ailment. Initially, two students were provided the assistance and the rest would be covered in due course. At another camp, 295 of 24,000 students were found suffering from vision problems. The Minister provided spectacles to 50 students. Mr. Stalin also presented appointment letters to 17 physicians who were posted to maternity centres and dispensaries of the Corporation.
