CHENNAI: The State arm of the Confederation of Indian Industry has welcomed Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s proposal to the Prime Minister to “announce the development of the Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor as an Industrial Corridor of Excellence on the lines of the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor.”

CII’s Tamil Nadu State Council chairman Gopal Srinivasan said an industrial corridor between Chennai and Bangalore would go a long way in exploiting the potential of both States to attract investment and create a skilled workforce.

“The establishment of such an intra-state corridor would ensure inclusive, sustainable and balanced regional growth,” he said.
