CHENNAI: Emirates Airline on Wednesday announced the launch of a new daily service between Chennai and Dubai and an expansion of its India operations.
The new service from Chennai, which started operating on October 28, leaves Chennai at 3.30 a.m. and reaches Dubai at 6.20 a.m. local time.
It is in addition to the daily morning service which leaves Chennai at 9.40 a.m.
“The new service will make it easier for Chennai passengers to connect to flights out of Dubai,” Orhan Abbas, vice-president (India and Nepal), Emirates Airline, said. Tickets will be available at a promotional fare (return) of Rs. 12,150 for the economy class until November 30 (taxes apply for all fares).

Mr. Abbas said India was one of the airline’s “biggest growing markets,” both for passenger and freight traffic. It operates with a load factor of 80-85 per cent on its India flights throughout the year. The West Asia and Indian Ocean market accounts for 18.6 per cent of its global passenger traffic, as well as 8.9 per cent of its global revenues.
