CHENNAI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Chennai Telephones has commissioned a DLC mini-exchange on the premises of Sree Krishna Sweets at Nemam to improve the quality of voice, data and broadband services in the peripheral area.

BSNL Chennai Telephones chief general manager M.P. Velusamy inaugurated the facility.

It has also opened a Customer Service Centre at LIC Buildings on 109, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Tiruvallur. It will accept applications for new line services and bill payments by cash/cheque for landline and mobile services.

A round-the-clock cheque depository machine was installed on the premises of the Perungudi Telephone Exchange (inside the Perungudi Industrial Estate). Customers can deposit cheques for payments of landline and mobile bills.

To help those who do not have bills at hand, the bill details, including the amount, can be ascertained from the machine and the cheque drawn accordingly and a receipt obtained, a press release said.
