Following a complaint that Uma Rani, wife of Veerabadran (35) of Bethaniapuram here, was missing since September 20, a case was registered.

Inquiries with relatives and friends of the missing woman resulted in discreet interrogation of Veerabadran, who has been running a timber and saw mill.

Based on his confession, the police learnt that Veerabadran had taken his wife to his shop in a bid to talk and settle matters. He had married Uma Rani, a relative, five years ago. He had been suspecting her fidelity in the last two years.
