To halt at Madurai, Virudhunagar

MADURAI: The South Western Railway will operate special trains between Bangalore and Nagercoil to clear passenger rush during Deepavali, Christmas, New Year and Pongal.

According to a Southern Railway press release, the 0647 Bangalore-Nagercoil special will leave Bangalore at 4 p.m. on October 27, November 3, 10, 17, 24, December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and January 5, 12, 19 and 26 and arrive Madurai at 2.30 a.m. the next day.

Leaving Madurai at 2.35 a.m., the special will reach Nagercoil at 6.55 a.m. 0648 Nagercoil-Bangalore special will leave Nagercoil at 1 p.m. on October 28, November 4, 11, 18, 25, December 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and January 6, 13, 20 and 27 and reach Madurai at 5.50 p.m.

It will leave Madurai at 6 p.m. and reach Bangalore at 4 a.m. the next day.

The specials will halt at Bangalore Cantonment, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachi and Tirunelveli.

The 0648 special will also stop at Bangalore East station.

Their composition will be one air-conditioned three-tier coach, 9 sleeper class coaches, 2 general second class coaches and 2 general second class-cum-luggage vans.
