in the effort

TIRUPUR: Nearly 500 activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India on Friday carried out a massive cleaning work at V.K. Government Higher Secondary School at Angeripalayam in Tirupur.

K. Marappan, president of Chettipalayam Panchayat, and R. Eswaran, president of DYFI Blood Donors Forum, inaugurated the work. The activists gave a fresh coat of painting to classrooms, cleared bushes besides giving a fresh lease of life to the play ground.

R. Kaliappan, president of Tirupur north union unit of DYFI, welcomed the gathering.

Members of three women self help groups and old students of the school joined in the cleaning drive.

State treasurer of the DYFI, R. Velmurugan, district president P. Ramamurthy and Students Federation of India district secretary Mahesh and others spoke.
