TIRUNELVELI: Educational institutions should impart quality education that can find solutions to the problems haunting and hampering the development of the society, Kuntrakudi Ponnambala Adigalar has said.
Addressing a two-day seminar on ‘Youth for Youthful India’ commenced at St. Ignatius College of Education, Palayamkottai on Tuesday, he said that quality education alone could be a panacea for all social evils and problems that was hampering the development of the society.
Hence the educational institutions should strive hard to impart such an education to the students without any discrimination.
He criticised the Government, “which has the duty of running educational institutions to provide quality education to the students”, for running retail shops to sell Indian Made Foreign Liquor.
The Director, Department of Youth Welfare, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, X. Rosary Mary, the secretary of the college, Rev. Sr. Nirmala Sundararaj, the principal (in-charge), A. Dhasnevis, the convener of the seminar, C.R. Gladys Stella Bai, and others participated.
More than 250 students from various colleges across the State art participating in the seminar.
