KANCHEEPURAM: The Federation of Tamil Nadu Sand Lorry Owners Association has urged the district administration to streamline sand quarrying process and open sufficient number of quarries to fill the demand-supply gap.

Staging a demonstration at Palar river-bed here on September 17, the association members demanded that ‘defects’ in sand quarrying operation should be rectified and additional quarries should be opened to help meet the demand-supply gap. — Staff Reporter
