Chennai: Mayor M. Subramanian inspected infrastructure development work in parts of Villivakkam (ward 63) on Wednesday.

He directed officials to remove water hyacinth weeds from a pond in the area so that the waterbody could be used as a rainwater harvesting structure.

He said that funds had been allocated for the following projects: four new child welfare centres, two noon meal centres, cement/concrete roads and improvement of the burial ground in the area. About Rs. 1.5 crore would be spent on the works.
