CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has appointed a retired Judge of the Madras High Court as interim administrator to look after the administration and affairs of the All India Naidu Sangam.

A Division Bench comprising Justices M. Chockalingam and R. Subbiah passed the order on an appeal by Capt. G.N. Venkat Rajaram and Andal Venkat Rajaram.

The Bench said the appellants had made out a case that the respondents – the sangam at T.Nagar here and 24 others – who, according to the sangam, were office-bearers elected as unopposed and declared, could not be permitted to carry on the affairs.

The court had to consider the larger interests of the community for which the organisation was started.

The term of office-bearers came to an end in such circumstances there arose a necessity for election of new executive committee and office-bearers.
