CHENNAI: V. Sundaramoorthy, a naxalite arrested in Tiruppur recently for his alleged involvement in extremist activities, was on Tuesday arrested in connection with another case registered against him in 1992.

The Special Court for TADA Cases remanded him to judicial custody till August 16.

According to the prosecution, Mr. Sundaramoorthy and two others — Bhoopalan and Sisubalan — had planted country-made bombs on rail tracks between Dharmapuri and Palakkod stations.

The blast took place on October 5, 1992.
