CHENNAI: A labourer died and three others injured when a lorry rammed a road divider late on Thursday night.

Police said the lorry carrying granite slabs from Andhra Pradesh was heading towards the city. At around 12.30 a.m., the vehicle hit a road divider near Kaduvetti. In the impact, Ram Babu (30) of Ram Nagar, Chittoor, who was sitting in the rear fell from the vehicle and died. Three others travelling in the lorry were injured and have been admitted to the Government Hospital, police said. In another accident, a two-wheeler rider identified as K. Kuppusamy (32) of Mylapore died when a private bus proceeding towards Mahabalipuram hit him on the East Coast Road on Friday.

Police said the victim was returning to the city.
