Coimbatore: The ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has claimed that it has garnered new business weighted-retail and group premiums of Rs. 4,834 crore giving it a market share of 28.7 per cent amongst private life insurers for 2006-07.

Quoting Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA) data, ICICI Prudential in a release claimed that it had become the first among the private life insurance companies to cross the milestone of four million policies.

For the two months ended May 31, 2007, the company garnered Rs. 587 crore new business premiums. The company’s assets held as on May 31, 2007 stands at over Rs 17,500 crores. It also continued to strengthen its presence across the country with over 580 branches across 421 locations and 2,30,000 advisors.
