YERCAUD: Traffic on the Yercaud Ghat Road was affected for a few hours on Wednesday early morning when a lorry carrying wooden logs lost control and overturned on the road. No one was injured in the accident.

Police said the lorry was proceeding to Salem when the accident took place at the 12th hairpin bend. It was said that the lorry was overloaded which led to the accident.

Police rushed to the spot and removed the lorry. Traffic was restored after a few hours. A number of accidents occurred on the ghat road because of overloading of vehicles.

Citizens and road-users urged the police officials to prevent the entry of overloaded heavy vehicles in the ghat road.
