Job fair for kin of policemen

A job fair for the relatives of policemen will be held at the Office of the Police Commissioner, Chennai City, from May 14-16. It is being organised by HR 7- Career. On May 17, interviews will be conducted at the Armed Reserve Police Kalayana Mandapam, Pudupet, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HR7 is conducting a free training programme for children, families of the Chennai City Police, focussing on basic interview skills, group discussions, etiquette and career planning. At the end of the training, onsite recruitments will be conducted by IT, ITES and call centres.

Cardiac screening

Dr GS Heart Foundation is organising a free cardiac screening camp for police personnel at Santhome Church, 9 a.m. Police Commissioner Letika Saran will be the chief guest.

Intervention sought

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations-Southern Region has sought the intervention of the State Labour Department to restore normality in Pricol, a leading manufacturer and exporter of auto components in Coimbatore, whose operations have been affected by a prolonged strike.

In a statement, A.Sakthivel, vice-president and Southern Regional Chairman of the FIEO, said freedom of deployment of labour force and flexibility in labour legislation were imperative for economic growth and sustained export efforts. Employers should be allowed to adjust their workforce in tune with structural changes and need for inter-enterprise and intra-enterprise job transfers, he added.
