Into the functioning of district office of THADCO

TIRUCHI: The Collector Ashish Vachhani has ordered a detailed inquiry into the functioning of the district office of the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravida Housing Development Corporation (THADCO).

The inquiry comes in the wake of the arrest of a junior assistant in the office by the Department of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on graft charges here on Thursday.

The junior assistant was charged with demanding bribe for releasing subsidy on a loan sanctioned to a beneficiary for purchase of an autorickshaw.

The inquiry will be conducted by the District Revenue Officer, who would be assisted by two officers in the rank of deputy collectors.

The inquiry would look into specific instances of delays in disbursement of subsidy and loans after the sanction accorded by the Collector.

All officers and employees of the office would come under the scanner.

Based on the report, follow action would be taken to ensure accountability.
