    CHENNAI: Techofes '07, the inter-college cultural event of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University will be held this week (February 14, 15, 16 and 17).

    The theme for this year's event is "Celebrating the spirit of Chennai."

    The names of some events, Kalakshetra (for choreo), Moore Market (for shipwreck) and Poe's Garden (for flower arrangement), stay true to this theme.

    Bigger than before

    So what is different with Techofes '07? It is bigger than ever before and so would be the fun.

    This year's Techofes will also have a special visitor national-award winning actor Vikram along with many other stars from Kollywood. The showpiece event of Techofes '07 is a special concert by singer Vasundra Das on February 16.

    She will be accompanied by John Britto's dance troupe.

    Open quiz

    This year's Techofes will also have, for the first time, an open quiz on February 17. Special prizes will be given for Best School Team and Best Team name. Techofes is also packed with literary and cultural events.

    The following three days will keep up the spirit with its indoor literary events and foot-tapping dance and star-studded cultural performances at the Open Air Theatre. Techofes would witness participants from colleges across the country and has stupendous prizes worth Rs.3 lakh.

    Participants from more than 300 colleges are expected to enliven the proceedings of this eagerly anticipated cultural event in Chennai.

    The hosts students of this more than 200-year-old college, say there is more than fun to Techofes, it is more a tribute to a 350-year-old city.
