THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With a day left for the much-awaited The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007, last-minute preparations are on at the University Stadium here for the two-day event.
Twenty information technology (IT) majors, including Cognizant, Wipro, Patni, Verizone, Covansys and HCL, and nine business process outsourcing (BPO) and IT-enabled services (ITES) companies will participate in the fair. While lucrative job offers await experienced IT professionals, the ITES/BPO companies will look for fresh graduates with good communication and interpersonal skills. Fast-track entry will be offered to experienced candidates.
Entry to the fair will be through invitation. Candidates should carry 15 to 30 copies of their resumes. Tests, interviews and short-listing will be held at the venue. Canteen facility will be available.
The venue, University Stadium, G.V. Raja Pavilion, opposite Mascot Hotel in P.M.G. junction, is located 2 km from Thampanoor railway station and bus stand.
Each participating company will conduct its own test to assess the skills and aptitudes of the candidates. Tests, interviews and recruitment-related activities will be done separately.
