Up to 70 per cent discount offered

  • Picture Bibles available for children
  • A portion of proceeds will be used for street children's education

    CHENNAI: Thousands of books at the Bible Book Fair ushered in the New Year.

    The hall at Gurukul Theological College, Purasawalkam, was filled with neatly lined up Bibles to suit all age groups.

    Organised by Good News Homes' Ministries, the fair has 400 varieties of Bibles including study Bibles and re ference Bibles in English, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

    The fair also offers a choice of different versions of Bibles from the King James version, new international version to the amplified version.

    Besides the colourful velvet bound Bibles, there are Tamil red letter Bibles and nine varieties of Tamil reference Bibles.

    Children would love to be gifted with picture Bibles available at the fair. Used Bibles and books on sale are priced from Rs.10 onwards.

    Krenop Samuel, Good News Homes' Ministries secretary, said Bibles priced from Rs.10 to Rs.2,000 and English books were also available.

    A portion of the proceeds would go to the night school education of about 90 street children adopted by the Ministries, she said.

    The fair provides a discount of up to 70 per cent. It is open between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. till Friday.
