The board is implementing two hours scheduled load shedding every day

The drop in wind energy generation has also lead to 15 -20 minute unscheduled load shedding

COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) is not likely to revise the load shedding schedule this week for consumers in the district.

Chief Engineer of the Board A. Thangavelu told The Hindu that “no major disturbance is expected this week and the situation is expected to be manageable.”

The board is implementing two hours scheduled load shedding every day.

With a drop in wind energy generation, consumers had at least 15 to 20 minute unscheduled load shedding apart from the scheduled power cuts last week. Mr. Thangavelu said consumption declined by 50 per cent on Saturday in the district as it was Deepavali and a holiday.Hence, there was no power cut for the last two days. However, the scheduled load shedding resumed on Monday.

Several workers in the garment units in Tirupur and the powerloom units in the district were expected to return to work only by the end of this week.Production would be low in the units for about a week and the demand for power would not go up, he said.

Hence, the power situation was not expected to get worse this week.
