CHENNAI: Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 96.26 kg of ketamine hydrochloride, valued at Rs.9 crore, from two export containers bound for Malaysia at the Tuticorin port on Wednesday.

An official release stated that acting on a tip-off, the consignment marked ‘pooja items’ were examined and packets of a sugar-like substance found. It was later confirmed to be ketamine hydrochloride.

This is the second largest seizure of the drug this year.
