Chennai: Residents of Pulianthope, who have been receiving sewage-contaminated drinking water in the past few days, will receive Metrowater tanker supply till the problem is rectified.

On Thursday, Mayor M. Subramanian, Chennai Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni and Metrowater Managing Director Sunil Paliwal visited the streets affected.

The Mayor directed that the water and sewer pipelines be re-laid.

Any blocks in the sewers would be removed, he said. Roads would be restored after the completion of work on the pipelines.
