MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) has chalked out plans to spread its study centres outside the State to cater for the needs of Tamil-speaking population in the northern belt.

During this academic year, the university will open 15 centres in different States, including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, M. S. Palanichamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNOU, told The Hindu here on Saturday.
