Resident welfare associations are social capital. When people get together, they have a collective power similar to trade unions. Exnora has about 300 associations affiliated to it and provides training in how to manage the association.
Every street is likely to have a lawyer, an accountant… If such human resources can be put together, a lot can be done. We offer training in rain water harvesting, solid waste management and greening a locality.
Each member in an association is encouraged to have a specific role, for example taking charge of tree planting in the area.
