TIRUCHI: It’s here again. The four-day Festember ’08 showcasing the enriching literary and cultural facets of National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi (NIT-T) unfolds on Thursday.
Generous doses of vitality, exuberance and unadulterated fun are what the event organisers promise with a vast array of cultural extravaganzas engineered to bedeck the Institution’s front-ranking image further.
The mega student carnival will see talents from all over the State vying in as many as 50 events involving a prize money of three lakh rupees.
Literary events are to be held in English, Hindi and Tamil, to bring out the scholarly skills of the participants. And ChoreoNit and Theatrix are meant to elicit the musical and theatrical skills. A range of events in body art, mural creation, graffiti and more is expected to satisfy the eternal art-buff’s appetite, while the Art exhibition showcases works of exquisite beauty to stimulate and excite the participant’s imagination.
‘Festember’ also encourages the spirit of education through a fun process, the organisers say, informing that Edutainment will be in the forms of workshops dealing with photography, crossword solving, creative writing, western dance, overall styling and even pottery.
Wait! A variety of unconventional games is also in store: 3-a-side basketball, karaoke, 4-a-side soccer matches and lots more.
The star attraction will be the ProNite event when “Drums” Sivamani and Karthik will sail with the audience through a high-decibel enthralling experience.
