KRISHNAGIRI: As many as 898 beneficiaries were recommended for treatment under the State Government’s health insurance scheme at the special camps conducted in the district.

As part of the district administration’s initiative to conduct panchayat union level screening camps, 222 beneficiaries were selected out of the 765 reported for screening at the camp in Bargur Government Boys Higher Secondary School.

Collector V.K. Shanmugam gave away recommendation letter to the beneficiaries to the hospitals according to their wish.

Speaking at the function, Mr. Shanmugam said that so far 1,79,917 families were photographed out of the 3,68,538 families for enrolment in the insurance scheme. In another release issued by the Collector here on Wednesday, different-abled persons are eligible to become members of the medical insurance scheme. Differently-abled persons have been asked to enrol themselves at the special camps in Hosur union till November 19.
