COIMBATORE: Shanti Ashram along with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore West is implementing a three-month intensive immunisation drive at Arivoli Nagar and MGR Nagar.

The programme plans to reach out to 200 children and then extend it to about 1,000 children in rural areas. It was inaugurated on August 18 at Arivoli Nagar.

M. Alagiriswamy, president of the Rotary Club of Ciombatore West, distributed the first immunisation card.

Minoti Aram, president of Shanti Ashram, asked rural mothers to be proactive and to participate in the campaign. More than 110 rural children were covered in the first round of immunisation.
