CHENNAI: The scheme of promoting the concept of road safety through post cards was launched by Transport Minister K.N. Nehru on Friday.

Five lakh cards of the Meghdoot type have been printed for the purpose and are available all over the State.

Each card costs 50 paise.

The Minister handed over the inaugural card to Postmaster General T. Murthy.

An official release stated that allocation for road safety works had been increased from Rs. 6 crore last year to Rs.16.5 crore this year . — Special Correspondent
