TIRUCHI: The Tiruverumbur branch of the Indian Overseas Bank was inaugurated here on Friday. District Collector T. Soundiah inaugurated the branch as a specialised MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) branch in the presence of Chief Regional Manager of the bank, Tiruchi region, Renuka Mohan Rao.

The General Manager in-charge, BHEL, V. Ananthakrishnan commissioned the automated teller machine (ATM) at the branch.

According to Mrs. Rao, this was the 50th branch of the bank in the region covering Tiruchi and Ariyalur districts. She said that the branch has been started in the industrial belt of Tiruchi district with special focus on the banking needs of the industrialists and entrepreneurs.

Thrust on services to MSME units will be priority apart from other sectors such as trade and retail schemes.

The branch sports a modern look with a state of the art banking technology such as core banking, Esee banking, NEFT, RTGS remittance facilities etc.

It recently launched special savings and current account schemes for the public. Gold coin sales, insurance products and locker facilities are also available.
