CHENNAI: A police constable attached to the Central Crime Branch was arrested for allegedly barging into a women’s hostel in Nungambakkam on Wednesday.

Police said constable C. Sanjeev Kumar (23) scaled the compound wall of a women’s college and entered the hostel. When a student saw him and tried to raise an alarm, he threatened her with dire consequences.

The Nungambakkam police arrested Kumar. He was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody, the police said.
