SALEM: Mounting garbage and overflowing sewage channels greet those who visit many of the inner parts of the Salem city.

The Salem Corporation, even after privatising the sanitary works including garbage collection in 21 wards and re-distributing its workers from these wards to other areas, has failed to improve the sanitary condition.

Garbage clearance remains poor in several parts including the areas where the sanitary works have been privatised.
