It will recommend steps for improvement
ERODE: A team from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals, New Delhi, visited the Government Hospital, Erode, to study ways for improvement.
The team led by Ramesh Babu, chief consultant, inspected facilities available at the hospitals and observed facilities not available. After a thorough study based on 100 parameters, the team would recommend steps for improvement, which would be implemented within a timeframe, Mr. Babu said.
In a move aimed at improving functioning of hospitals, the team will visit 12 hospitals in the State. On Wednesday the team was at the Tirupur hospital. They will also visit hospitals in Cuddalore, Namakkal, Hosur, Sholingar, Usilampatti and a few other places. Mr. Babu said the Board now focused on Government Hospitals, after doing the same with private hospitals. The move and implementation of recommended improvements would ensure a cordial relationship between the hospital and patients. He was accompanied by Vidya, senior consultant, and Johnson Vijai, Vivek Cherian and Sharmila.
