NEYVELI: General secretary of the Labour Progressive Front (LPF) of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation R. Gopalan told The Hindu that the union had served a strike notice on the management on Friday night.

It may be noted that another trade union — Pattali Thozhir Sangam along with Central unions such as INTUC, AITUC and HMS — had already served the notice on July 2 for the same issue.

Mr. Gopalan said stalemate continued even after four rounds of talks on issues such as payment of bonus, incentives and conveyance allowance.
