CHENNAI: A three-member gang allegedly attacked a pharmacy store owner and relieved him of Rs.800 at Pulianthope here on Monday night.

Police said the complainant, S. Kadirmal (21) of Otteri, was returning home by motorcycle after closing his shop when the three persons intercepted him at a junction. They attacked him, snatched money from his pocket and escaped.

Based on a complaint, the Pulianthope police formed a special team that arrested N. Kannan (24), M. Suresh (22) and N. Rajendran (28) of the same area. The cash was recovered from them.

The trio was already involved in theft and robbery cases in Otteri, Vyasarpadi and Pulianthope, police added.
