Shooting progressing at Kumbakonam

TIRUCHI: Perarasu, keeping up with his habit of naming films after important places, has titled his new movie ‘Tiruvannamalai,’ which he promises would be an action-packed commercial entertainer.

Arjun and newcomer Sania Vakil play the lead pair in the movie, for which shooting is going on in full swing at Kumbakonam and nearby areas.

“The story revolves around Tiruvannamalai and Kumbakonam. I am teaming up with Arjun for the first time and the subject suits his action hero image. The film will be a treat to his fans,” says Perarasu.

With the success of Bharath-starrer ‘Pazhani,’ the director’s previous venture, he once again proved his ability to gauge the pulse of the audience. The director admits his earlier ventures – ‘Tirupachi,’ ‘Sivakasi,’ ‘Tirupathi’ and ‘Dharmapuri’ – were scripted keeping in mind a hero, but claims to have moved over from this habit from ‘Pazhani.’

Also a talented lyricist, Perarasu has penned down the lyrics for all the songs in ‘Tiruvannamalai.’ Considering himself lucky, for having directed films for established banners, with big names in the lead roles, Perarasu says that expectations from the fans are high for his flicks. “Every venture is a new challenge. I make it a point that my films cater well to the need of the audience,” he adds, revealing that his next movie is ‘Tiruthani,’ with Bharath playing the hero.
