Tuticorin: A six-day special campaign conducted by the Directorate of Employment and Training in the district concluded on Friday.

The campaign was aimed at enabling the students who have completed Standard X this year to register their names with employment exchange.

K. Kalaiselvan, District Employment Officer, said that a total of 12,607 children (5,832 boys and 6,775 girls) enrolled their names at the special booths set up under programme at V.O.C. Government Boys HSS, Kovilpatti, Government Boys HSS, Tiruchendur, Government HSS, Ottapidaram, K.G.S. HSS, Srivaikundam and at the office of District Employment Officer situated near the Collectorate.

Of them, 5,591 students (2,586 boys and 3,005 girls) registered at the office of the District Employment Officer, 3,298 (1,521 boys and 1,777 girls) at Kovilpatti, 940 (440 bys and 500 girls) at Srivaikundam, 2,168 (982 boys and 1,186 girls) at Tiruchendur, and 610 children (303 boys and 307 girls) at Ottapidaram. Mr. Kalaiselvan said that the model test planned by the directorate for the candidates appearing for the examination to select clerical cadre staff in the State Bank of India slated for July 10, would be held at the office of District Employment Officer here on Saturday (June 21).

The interested persons should reach the venue at 9.30 a.m.
