‘Pirivom Santhipom’ being made into feature film

CHENNAI: Writer Sujatha’s novel ‘Pirivom Santhipom’ is being made into a feature film titled ‘Ananda Thandavam’.

The film, to be directed by A.R. Gandhi Krishna, will be produced by V. Ravichandran for Oscar Films.

The shoot for the film began in Ooty and will continue at Thenkasi, Kuttralam, Ammabasamudiram, and Papanasam.

A.R. Gandhi Krishna, who has earlier worked with Shankar, introduced Vishal in ‘Chellame.’

“When I wanted the rights to film his story, Sujatha was very happy. He also agreed to pen the dialogues for it. He completed his portion before passing away,” he said. “When the story was serialised in the Tamil weekly, ‘Ananda Vikadan’, I was among the numerous fans who couldn’t wait to read it every week. Since Karu. Pazhaniappan has already taken the title ‘Pirivom Santhipom,’ we decided on ‘Anada Thandavam’.”

Actor Siddharth is the hero of the film and Thamanna, of ‘Kalluri’ fame, plays the female lead.

The music is scored by G.V. Prakash and lyrics are by Vairamuthu. A 30-day shoot is to be held in U.S. later. The camera will be handled by Jeeva Shankar and editing is by V.T. Vijayan. The film is a love story with a difference, according to the director.
