PUDUKOTTAI: Members of the Pudukottai District branch of the Tamil Nadu Graduate Teachers’ Association have urged the State government to ensure transparency in counselling programme for transfer of teachers. They also demanded enhancing the allowances for teachers appointed as members of flying squad.

Pointing out that teachers corrected the answer-sheets during summer vacation, they demanded special casual leave or earned leave equivalent to their period on valuation duty. They also wanted a special allowance of Rs.100 for teachers on valuation duty. “Valuation of public examination papers requires concentration and the meagre sum would not suffice,” said its District president Samy.
