CHENNAI: In a attempt to provide a forum for Tamil entrepreneurs across the world to interact and develop business ventures, a two-day World Tamilians’ Economic Conference would be organised by Madras Development Society in January next year.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting held here recently, the Society’s president V.R.S. Sampath said the conference would be held on January 5 and January 6 at Hotel Taj Coromandel. The conference would provide a platform to share knowledge with various experts and industrialists from across the world and develop business ventures.

About 500 delegates, comprising economic experts and industrialists, are expected to participate. Vellore Institute of Technology Chancellor and Organising Committee Chairman G. Viswanathan said the conference would discuss investment, business and employment opportunities.

The participants would be exposed to global business market and guided to tap the potential of various business opportunities.

The conference would also bring together government representatives from various countries. The necessity of setting up a Tamil Chamber of Commerce in various place across the world was also discussed during the meeting.
