VANIYAMBADI: Traffic at the Pudur railway gate was suspended for over an hour as the engine of a goods train coming from Jolarpet to Chennai developed technical snag and came to a halt on Tuesday.

Sources said that the goods train had started from Jolarpet at noon and was nearing the Vaniyambadi Railway Station at 12.40 p.m. when the engine of the train developed a technical snag and halted in between the Pudur Railway Gate and the station.

Traffic on both sides of the railway gate was affected for an hour.

However, the railway authorities set right the problem in the engine.

The train was then halted at the Vaniyambadi Railway Station and normal traffic movement was restored.
