Abstracts invited from research scholars, faculty members
KARAIKUDI: The Alagappa University will organise a two-day international conference on “Classical literature” on March 26 and 27.
R. Dhandapani, Registrar, said the conference was sponsored by the Centre of Excellence for classical Tamil, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore.
The conference aimed at highlighting the classical literature of the East and the West with special reference to Tamil, Sanskrit, Chinese, Greek, Latin and Hebrew. Prof. Katonis from Greece, Prof. Tee Boon Chuan from Malaysia, Prof. Pak Hyon Ok from Korea and other scholars would participate.
He said the programme would focus on literary forms and styles of classical languages as well as their cultural and social content. The last date for the receipt of abstracts had been extended up to February 15.
